about

"like My Bloody Valentine taking a sunbath." - Claudio S.

I am completely fine with that description, but let's take a closer look, shall we?

The first full-length in the PLS catalog is wave after wave of big noise and thumping rhythm, tempered by a stubborn caretaker and a very serious DIY aesthetic. The album opener, "Pile of Ashes," is deceptively stark and mesmerizing, ending in a burst of noise that means business. From there, chunks of shoegaze ("Mary of the Overpass"), punk ("Hurricanes"), dream pop ("Mojave Phone Booth"), and a fat dose of good ol' fashioned rock 'n' roll ("Points West") melt together into a shining, lush landscape: Looking Mean and Impressive.
